This is a project completed at The Iron Yard to design a mobile app for a local coffee shop. For the project I chose Jubala coffee, a local Raleigh, NC coffee shop. Jubala is inspired by the goal of improving customer experience and catering for your typical bar espresso drinker, group meetings, or weekend breakfast.
Design a mobile application that allows customers to place to-go orders from their phone that will be ready and waiting for them when they arrive to the shop locations without waiting in line.
My process began by reseaching Jubala and learning more about their brand target, brand character, and strengths and weaknesses. I then drew several sketches to visualize my ideas for the app, built wireframes using axure, and improved the usability in my mockups using Sketch. Once the mockup was complete, I transfered my content to Invision to create a prototype for the mobile application.
My primary challenge was creating the different user paths necessary to encompass each part of the app. There are multiple possible orders and combinations of orders that involve creating more pages. Once the content was transfered to Invision. I was able to assign actions to the different links in the app giving more accurate usability.
